Destination Marketing Paid Internship

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate student with a major in marketing, web development, communications or another related program required.
2. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
3. Proficient with Windows OS, productivity software such as Microsoft Office and communication/collaboration tools.
4. Prior CMS or email marketing experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Ability to communicate effectively, manipulate data, perform operational tasks, and operate office equipment.
2. Ability to lift 35 pounds.
3. Have dependable transportation and a current driver’s license.
4. Flexibility to carry out responsibilities on evenings, weekends, holidays, and to travel as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist digital operations team with email marketing, including scheduling, planning, layout, implementation and reporting.
2. Assist with website updates for the leisure, sports/events and meetings websites.
3. Assist with the ongoing training of the leisure site chatbot, ensuring users are directed to the correct page and that those pages include the relevant content to answer questions.
4. Make content suggestions to fill content gaps identified during chatbot training.
5. Other duties as assigned by the Digital Operations Manager, Director of Marketing or the President/CEO.

JOB LOCATION AND HOURS: The position reports daily to the CVB’s operations center, located at 900 Commerce Loop in Gulf Shores, Ala. Flexible work schedules are permitted between the hours of 7 am and 6 pm, with the workday being eight hours per day, five days per week, Monday through Friday.

EVALUATION: As determined by evaluation requirements of intern’s school program.
